I only watched a few seconds of the 2007 Emmys, but I caught a glimpse of Vanessa Williams’ dress and knew that she would be on my best dressed list. This woman, even through some scandalous pictures and even more scandalous husbands, always manages to look completely fab! She is soooo my beauty role model…..
Anyways, I have to prepare for a photoshoot in B-more, so I “borrowed” (wink, wink) these pictures from Red Carpet Style Awards. I do not possess even a scintilla of the creativity that it takes to arrange the headshots and body shots….hence the pictures seen on this post marching very neatly in a vertical single file line….
Here are my top picks of the night:
1. America Ferrera
She certainly wears blue very well. I love the way that the belt creates a waistline. It gives definition and accentuates her curves well.
2. Vanessa Williams
I love the feathers. Only true divas can pull this look off….
3. Ellen Pompeo
Ok, I LOOOVE Grey’s Anatomy, but that’s not why I picked Meredith Grey. She looks absolutely stunning in this gown. Her jewelry is hot!!!
4. Kimora Lee Simmons
Kimora is showing off her fabulousity again…..but I can’t hate on her. Even though I left the Baby Phat fashion show early because of the pre-show chaos, I still love her….
5. Mary-Louise Parker
I don’t watch Weeds, but you don’t need to be puffing on that Kryptonite to know that this dress is smoking!
6. Heidi Klum
Why, oh Lord, why…I need to take notes from this fab mother on how to keep it looking hot and fresh!
7. Ana Ortiz
The Ugly Betty star is keeping it simple in this black gown…and I strongly believe in the K.I.S.S. principle…and she looks splendid….I’m so used to her “joo-know what I meen” character, I forgot that she can look like this…
8. Sara Ramirez
I see you, Sara! Representing hippy chicks on the scene…..and you better work it, girl!
TRENDS OF THE NIGHT:
- Bare necks
- Old school glamorous hair: fingerwaves, chignons, updos
- Long, simple form-fitting gowns with few or no embellishments
- Strapless gowns
