When the likes of Derek Lam, Behnaz Sarafpour, and Chloé use them as excessive embellishments, the fashion world caught fire. They definitely add a surprise element to your attire, especially if in a contrasting color. According to celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, “Alber Elbaz pioneered the whole exposed zipper thing at Lanvin. It just adds edge to certain pieces. I love a classic chic dress and then an exposed zipper in the back.” And, it definitely has a sex appeal factor. “Well,” says Zoe, “it alludes to a lot, a zipper.”
