Happy New Year!
Happy 2008 fab readers!
I wish that I had some juicy fashion or lifestyle news and pics for you all, but my MacBook Pro needed a quick tune up and will be back on Saturday. In the meantime, I will post some quick hints and tips using my Crackberry (this thing is really addictive!).
Ladies, to be absolutely fab in the ‘08, try a few, or even better yet, all of the following:
1. Stop complaining about your life, wardrobe, significant other or lack thereof, career, education, and on and on…
NO ONE wants to be bombarded with your daily diatribes about your unhappy life. If you have to tell somebody, tell it to Jesus. By surrounding yourself with your own negativity, you simply end up perpetuating your own unhappiness and create a toxic environment for yourself and others around you. And you wonder why things NEVER seem to go your way…
Speak positivity in your life, have faith in yourself, create and believe in your goals, and make it happen, cap’n!
2. Update your look with a fresh ___________. You decide, or ask a few brutally honest friends what can be updated about your appearance. A new haircut, hair color, shade of lipstick, handbag/shoe combo, or even a new wardrobe might do you good!
3. Be healthier. Notice that I didn’t say, “Lose weight.” Resolve to be happy in the skin you’re in…no matter what the size. Take care of your temple by feeding it the best foods and listening to its cues, i.e. I’m full, I’m hungry, I hurt, I have atrophied, I am dehydrated, I’m stressed, I’m tight, I’m too loose, etc. Being healthier may or may not cause you to drop a few pounds but it may cause you to add some joy into your possibly extended life. Now who doesn’t need a little joy in their lives?
4. Find a stress reliever. Activities like meditation, yoga, and tai chi are traditionally recommended, but I strongly suggest that you find something that suits you and your interests. I’m not trying to knock any of the above, but the movement in each is simply not enough for me. Since I particularly like to move it-move it, I prefer to run, take belly dancing classes, and kickbox. Do whatever suits you. You may prefer ballroom dancing, swimming, taking a nature walk, reading, watching Ultimate fighting, whatever…just find something that allows you to let go and get rid of your stress. You will be a much easier person as a result.
5. Enjoy life! This may sound really simple, but it actually really is. Stop being jealous of what others have and go get it for yourself…if it’s meant to be for you, it will happen. If not, try something else. Everything is not for everybody. The next time you hear yourself saying, “I wish I could be more like so-and-so” or “I wish I had so-and-so’s _______,” figure out EXACTLY what you admire (jealously is simply an extreme form of admiration) and go out and get it or cultivate it for yourself. It’s your life…only you can change it…
I’ll have some tips for the menfolk tomorrow. Until then, have a great day and keep it strictly stylish!

These are some great tips to keep in mind for 2008! I especially love the first tip about the constant complaining.
