Party Like a Rockstar: How to Make the Perfect Martini…and a few other recipes

It’s been a long day and you want to wind down and relax….what’s a tired fab person to do?
How about a nice drink and a toast to life, love and happiness…to yourself, that is!
Here are some great recipes for some tasty Martinis.  Since my preggers self can’t even sip on something so scrumptious, I’ll live vicariously through you all.  Enjoy!
The one and only original Perfect Martini
The traditional Martini connoisseur will tell you that this variation of the Martini is anything but “perfect” but the name is what it is. Perfect Martinis vary from classic Martinis by using equal amounts of dry and sweet vermouths.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz dry vermouth
  • 1/2 oz sweet vermouth
  • 1 green olive or lemon twist for garnish

PREPARATION:

  1. Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice cubes.
  2. Stir well.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with the olive or lemon twist.

The In and Out Lemontini

The In & Out Lemontini transforms the dry In & Out Martini into a sweet dessert cocktail. It does this by replacing vermouth with lemoncello, which is best kept chilled in the freezer.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 oz vodka
  • splash of lemoncello
  • lemon twist for garnish

PREPARATION:

  1. Pour a splash of lemoncello into a frozen cocktail glass.
  2. Swirl the liqueur around in the glass until all surfaces are coated.
  3. Shake the vodka in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  4. Throw away any excess lemoncello in the glass.
  5. Strain the shaken vodka into the coated cocktail glass.
  6. Garnish with a lemon twist.

The Pom-X
Sometimes picking up a couple of miscellaneous bottles that just happen to be in your bar can create a wonderful new mix. This was the case that caused me to create the Pom-X Martini. It’s an extra fruity, pink Martini that blends pomegranate vodka and X-Rated Fusion Liqueur. Two of my favorite pomegranate vodkas that pair wonderfully with the unique flavors of X-Rated Fusion are Charbay and VanGogh.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/2 oz pomegranate vodka
  • 1 1/2 oz X-Rated Fusion

PREPARATION:

  1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

The Peartini:

The Peartini is the signature Martini of Grey Goose’snewest flavored vodka, La Poire. This super-premium pear-flavored vodka is displayed beautifully in combination with Disarrano Amaretto, the sweetness of simple syrup and a little tart lemon juice. For a refreshingly sweet summer Martini, the Peartini is a perfect choice.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 parts Grey Goose La Poire
  • 1/4 part Disaronno
  • 1/4 part simple syrup
  • 1/2 part lemon juice
  • pear slice for garnish

PREPARATION:

  1. Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosted and beaded with sweat.
  3. Strain into a cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with a pear slice.
