So, ladies, you still looking for a man in the New Year, eh? If so, here are 5 great tips to find one:
- Go to events (preferably first-class functions) by YOURSELF! When amongst of a crowd of either equally beautiful, intelligent, witty, (you name the quality) women, you will be just a part of the crowd. Going solo eliminates the need for competition, distinguishes you from the other packs or female couplets, and makes you appear much less intimidating to the single man.
- Buy floor seats to a few professional athletic games, opera, ballet, plays, or to whaterver suits your fancy. You can find some great men in floor seats–usually alone or with some buddies. If he has enough resources or taste to appreciate front row seats, he is at least worth a try…LOL! Beware of the posers….many players buy front row seats simply to front and have no dating potential whatsoever!
- Dine at some of the quality restaurants in your town. For example, in DC, we have the Capitol Grille, The Palms (which should be in most major cities), Morton’s, CityZen, to name a few…there are always available men at the bar, at happy hours, and in special functions at these places.
- Don’t always go for the typical trendy look when preparing yourself to go out. Sure, high waisted jeans are hot right now and leather leggings …but when EV’RYBODY is wearing them…it’s not so hot. Stay in the classy and classic category and you will get noticed before anyone else who simply blends into the crowd.
- Be open minded about potential candidates. Develop a wider range of men from which to choose in your dating pool. Stop looking at the surface qualities and go beneath to the more compelling layers to find a mate. Sure, I believe in making a list and releasing it to the universe to attract your ideal mate, but I don’t believe in a nonsensical, fairy tale, Prince Charming-esque laundry list of required attributes. If you get 50 out of your 80–see how you can work with it…
Use these tips, enjoy, and keep it strictly stylish!

The first one is so true! And if you’re too shy to go out by yourself (like me!), when you do go out. Venture by yourself, I guarantee you will attract mad attention.
