I love all of the new trends for the Spring! Especially the ones that let me get back to my true wild child nature…more on that later…let’s just say that I COMPLETELY enjoyed college, grad school, law school, and my twenties….had a few blackouts ev’ry now and then, but, you only live once!
Now that I’m married with kids, the only wild things I find are in books and usually through kid-centered activities (rock climbing, snowboarding, skateboarding, etc) or beyond the bedroom doors…I love being married….LOL!
Anyways, here’s a way to for all of us to infuse the wild kingdom into our wardrobes:
For the urban safari diva who spends more than the average bear on her wardrobe, check out these ensembles from Diane Von Furstenberg
and Derek Lam
For the working mom, Ladies Home Journal has these clothing suggestions:
Just leaving for school can be a job in itself, but you’ll be able to pull it off smoothly in a simple band-collar shirt and chic khaki button-up pencil skirt. Chunky, stacked-heel sandals and wooden jewelry take this look way out of Africa. Left: Shirt, United Colors of Benetton, $54. Jacket, REBA, $175. Skirt, Banana Republic, $68. Link necklace, Target, $12.99. Long necklace, R.J. Graziano, $165. Watch, MICHAEL Michael Kors, $120. Big Bangle, $35; thin bangle, $15; both R.J. Graziano. Bag, Nine West, $69. Sandals, Delman. Right: A classic safari jacket gets new life with a brown zebra-stripe bustier, chocolate cotton pants, and a stylist belt. Jacket, Eddie Bauer, $118. Bustier, Tommy Hilfiger, $89. Pants, MICHAEL Michael Kors, $89.50. Necklace, R.J. Graziano, $65. Belt, Suzi Roher, $310. Bag, Fossil, $78. Sandals, Naturalizer, $65.
For the urban warrior who wants to save her money for things other than her wardrobe, Old Navy has some great options for warmer temps and climates:
These twill shorts for $9.99 will be great to show off those gams that you have been working on and hiding all winter. They better be right, though–chunky cheese legs have never looked great in short shorts. No matter what your size, you can have smooth and toned legs!

Pair them with this button down blouse for $19.99

and add these wedges for $29.50
Make it a cinch and finish the look with this belt from Forever 21
Compliments of Dutch Vogue (as if you wouldn’t notice the non-English), here is an overview of the Safari Spring 2008 trend:

Now go and create your best safari look…and keep it strictly stylish!

I love the safari look, with animal print accents.
Those shorts are really cute!
