Moment of Silence for the Fashion World..and my Strictly Fab Find for the Week of June 2, 2008

The fashion world is in mourning this morning. According to the Associated Press, fashion icon Yves St. Laurent passed away on this past Sunday night after a courageous fight with brain cancer.

In his own words, Saint Laurent once said he felt “fashion was not only supposed to make women beautiful, but to reassure them, to give them confidence, to allow them to come to terms with themselves.”

My fashion candle is lit for thee….

On a brighter note, my one find of the week (due to my crazy study schedule and pregnancy finale) is

SEE: Sex and the City movie, starring Sarah Jessica Parker (amongst others)

So I even need to explain why? I will say this though, in order to really understand the storyline and the characters’ backstories, get the complete DVD set ASAP! For us faithful viewers, it wrapped it all up very nicely, just the way we like it….

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon are reprising their roles from the original HBO series. The show’s longtime executive producer, Michael Patrick King, is set to write and direct. Additionally, Chris Noth, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler and Jason Lewis will return as the women’s love interests. Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) has also joined the cast of the film and will play Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant, a new character to be introduced in the film. –© New Line Cinema
