Now, I stopped watching entertainment awards shows (in general)  a few years ago…just too much fluff and puff without much substance.  I actually took the time out to watch 2008 The American Music Awards this year….simply for the fashion at first..but I was actually was slightly pleased with the show.  Good singing, fabulously sarcastic Jimmy Kimmel as host, and the customary Beyonce performance.  As for the night’s fashion, my top three picks were (in no particular order) Pink, Rihanna, and Alicia Keys.

I think Pink is one who is truly confident about her look and loving every fab minute of it.  I love her Vivienne Westwood Fall 2007 dress.  Rihanna is wearing a dress from the  Zac Posen Spring 2009 RTW line (one of her faves).  Risky fashion choice..but it works for her.  Alicia Keys mixes glam with worldly culture with her East Indian-inspired Armani Privé royal blue gown with Swarovski crystal trim complete with a tikka (faux binif look).  All fab indeed!

I was a bit disappointed with Kanye West–his style swagger has seemed to taken a turn for the worse…there is a such a thing as too casual…oh well…that’s Kanye for ya!
