Strictly Fab Fashion: The perfect winter coat
Ok, if your aren’t reeling from the effects of winter by now, you are either on a tropical island, Cali, or Miami. For the rest of us who are doomed to weather the effects of winter, i.e. frigid temps, icy winds, and snow, I have a few suggestions for looking fab while doing so.
Your winter coat certainly does not have to be a dud. Since you absolutely have to be out and about, you may as well look fabulously stylish. I absolutely adore this Tulip Petal Coat by alice+olivia. It’s a great infusion of avant-garde mixed with a youthful appeal. Details: scarf -like collar, wide modern obi belt, asymmetrical hem. Only for the modern trendsetter…

For the girl who likes the classics with a twist, I suggest this Box Plaid Trench coat offered by L.A.M.B. I feel strongly that every woman should have at least one trench coat in her wardrobe. So, if you have an aversion to the standand colored camel trench, you have absolutely no reason to feel a tinge of guilt when you splurge on this uber-fantastic coat.

For those of who you who have a penchant for girlish looks with a trendy twist, try this Juicy Couture Peplum Ruffled Coat. The blouson sleeves add a hint of femininity; while the belted waist and added hip volume with the use of layers creates the quintessential figure-eight silhouette. Since it is not as thick as your average winter coat, I strongly suggest wearing layers. If not, this coat may provide the most warmth only during late fall and early spring.

While you may choose to wear a winter coat in basic black, but you certainly don’t have to look basic. This Tulip Coat by Opening Ceremony is no where near basic—and may cause a few heads to turn rapidly and repeatedly. I love the look of layered ruching, the nipped waistline, and the elongated sleeves. For a gal like me with long limbs who is always on th prowl for sleeves that cover my wrists, this coat is perfection.

All of these coats can be found on Shopbop. Keep it strictly fab!
