Strictly Fab Reader Request: Plus-size “middle ground” fashion

I love to do reader requests–and Twitter requests!  A strictly fab twitter friend,@LoVeALwaYz, asks:

“y is there such a gap in plus size its either plus size teen (trendy) or plus size professional where is the middle ground?”
I completely understand.  I used to shop with my plus sized friends and hear the same complaints:  clothes look too old, clothes look way too trendy, all plus sized women like animal prints or loud colors…

I have a few suggestions for a day-to-evening ensemble for the “middle ground” look:

1.  Start with a foundation of the basics: leggings, pencil skirt, opaque tights, camisoles, ballet flats, fitted blazer, and heels.

2.  For a daytime look, try a colored cami with the pencil skier and fitted blazer.  If you are not too chesty, you can even layer with a white tailored shirt and a vest.  If you have an ample bosom, wear only the blouse and blazer–you don’t want to look too bulky on top. Wear with heels or boots.

3.  For a more casual/trendy look, pair some leggings with a colored or white cami, embellished tee, or tank top.  Add a boyfriend blazer (an absolute must-have this season!) to finish the look.  Finish with ballet flats.

4.  For a dressier look, opt for the pencil skirt or leggings paired with a blazer, statement necklace, a few bracelets, and some bold shoes.  Always have an amazing bag on hand!

This should get you started.  Once you get comfortable, add more items like cardigans, shawls, boot cut slacks, scarves, jackets, and statement shoes.

    Keep it strictly fab!
