MAN DAY: Mad Men’s Lessons to live by via Don Draper

Happy MAN DAY!  I can’t wait until July 25th–the premiere of the 4th season of Mad Men!  Although the show focuses on middle-aged, overpaid, over-indulgent white males, I truly enjoy the period piece drama—and the wardrobe!  The main character, Don Draper, is a complete card.  Although he’s a adulteress, a liar, and a thief–he does provide some life gems to live by.  Esquire Mag has compiled a list of Don’s Rules to Live By:

1.  Always keep a stack of clean dress shirts on hand.
2.  Brylcreem is acceptable, since that stuff signifies sincerity.
3.  The way you deal with an ashtray is as important as the way you hold a cigarette.
4.  Wearing a bathrobe signifies the absolute absence of work.
5.  A glare has more influence than a smile.
6.  There are large lessons, too: Don’t befriend the people who work below you. There is power in distance.
7.  Don’t befriend the people who work above you. That way they will want you more than you need them.
8.  Don’t ever tell anyone everything.

I love #6, #7, and #8–hee-larious!!!

Keep it strictly fab!
