Strictly Fab Beauty Review: Lancome Teint Idole Fresh Wear

I am very picky when it comes to cosmetics.  I have sensitive and acne-prone skin, so I can’t just slather anything on it.  On top of that, I have oily skin–and the summer humidity makes it even worse here on the East Coast.  I am temperamental about trying new foundations–so I am more than delighted when I find a product of my liking.  Thanks to a great MUA friend, I now usually use Lancome’s Teint Idole Ultra.

The official site describes this amazing product below:

, with this description of the official site:

This retouch-free, oil-free foundation features innovative highly resistant pigments for 14-hour wear. SoftFeel™ technology glides on to comfort skin with flawless full coverage that lasts all day.

I can attest to the truth of those statements–and I am not being paid to do this…lol….I give it a 5 out of 5.

Recently I ran out of my regular foundation, so I scurried over to the nearest Lancome counter to re-up–but, somehow, the salesperson convinced me to try a new foundation, the Teint Idole Fresh Wear–a new foundation that promised an oil free and matte coverage for 18 hours AND it was closer to my skin tone than my regular foundation….

18-hour worry-free makeup
This fresh formula in a convenient tube delivers weightless yet moderate coverage that instantly minimizes the look of pores and imperfections. The complexion remains flawless and shine-free from morning until night – for a full 18 hours – even under humidity and perspiration. A naturally matte, poreless complexion that looks and feels fresh for 18 hours. Moderate coverage.

I give it a 3 out of 5 stars.  The color was actually closer to my skin tone (more of a yellow undertone than a red undertone), but I should have checked the coverage. I’m not a daily foundation wearer, but I prefer a fuller coverage when I do wear it.  The very sheer coverage didn’t suit me at all–I feel like I have to put on a few coats to get my desired look.  The only plus is that it does provide a matte coverage for most of the day–really closer to 8 hours and not 18 hours–but that should cover you for the day.

I’m going back to my regular foundation ASAP–but will keep this one on deck if I want a sheerer coverage.

Keep it strictly fab!
